Description: White to off White Powder with Characteristic of Slight Hygroscopic and Sour Milky Odor, Stable to Light and Heat, Freely Soluble in Water. Free from any visible impurities
Moisture Content: 0.5% max.
Odor: Characteristic rancid, sour milky odor.
Solubility: Freely soluble in water.
Loss on Drying: 0.5% max.
pH: Alkaline
Assay: 98.0% min. (by Titrimetry).
Heavy Metals: ≤ 10 ppm
Lead: ≤ 3 ppm

Packing will be 25 or 50 kg in HMHDP bags placed in an HDPE bag or drum or as required by the buyer.
Butyric acid has a positive effect on the intestinal wall of the colon of human beings and animals. Butyric acid is produced by fermentation in the colon and plays an important role in fighting diseases such as colon cancer and Crohn Disease. Butyric acid is the energy source for the gut wall cells. This means that it has a direct impact on the development, regeneration, growth and multiplication of the villi in the intestinal tract. Butyric acid also positively influences the balance between pathogenic and good bacteria in the colon, preventing the adhesion and colonization of pathogenic bacteria in the colon. Besides the positive effects of butyric acid in the colon, it also strengthens the functioning of the pancreas and liver. Butyric acid has a unpleasant smell. Salts of butytic acid smell have a less pungent smell, depending on the strength of the bound and the easiness to dissociate. By using calcium butyrate, the smell is decreased and butyrate is more gradually released in the small intestine than other salts of butyrate.
Packing will be 25kg or 50kg in HDPE bags with HMHDP liners or in drums or as required by the buyer.
